Industrial plants harbor vast amounts of untapped energy. Our Energy key service helps identify these unused energy flows and repurpose them more efficiently, leading to cost savings and improved competitiveness, all in alignment with environmental goals.
In industrial environments, energy is stored in many forms: hot condensate, warm water, process heating and cooling, transfer pipelines, pumps, and heat exchangers. All of this energy can be harnessed for productive use.
Energy key is a service focused on uncovering and utilizing hidden energy flows. Once potential optimization targets are identified, new technologies can be leveraged to enhance industrial energy efficiency more easily than ever before.
Businesses face increasing pressure to improve energy efficiency, driven by both economic and environmental considerations. Clean industry is a key part of the strategy for companies following the EU’s new climate regulations. Efficiency improvements also bring financial benefits, such as reduced emissions trading costs.
Emerging technologies have significantly expanded the ways in which energy flows can be utilized efficiently.
The Energy key toolbox provides the right solutions for each site: for example, flash steam can be recycled by compressing it back into primary steam, or surplus hot water can be used to generate electricity via a low-temperature ORC (Organic Rankine Cycle) plant.
When improving energy use, it is also worth considering biodegradable, natural working media — such as those used in closed-loop heat pumps.
Biodegradable media can reduce waste treatment costs and prevent the accumulation of toxic substances in nature and humans. Political discourse is increasingly focused on adopting environmentally friendly processes, raw materials, and working media — and future legislation is expected to further encourage the use of biodegradable alternatives.
The Energy key service is based on our solid expertise, developed over years of conducting field assessments in a wide range of industrial facilities.
A company’s energy flows are analyzed in collaboration with the customer. The collected data is entered into our database software, which produces clear, illustrative graphics of the plant’s energy usage — both in the baseline scenario and after proposed improvements. During the assessment, we identify potential savings targets, propose concrete enhancement measures, and prepare cost calculations and profitability analyses.
The customer selects the most suitable actions. For the selected measures, we prepare feasibility studies, including preliminary engineering and more accurate cost estimates. This ensures the practical viability and financial soundness of the actions to support investment decisions.
Energy projects aimed at improving production efficiency and reducing emissions are often eligible for investment grants. We also offer expert consulting support in preparing funding applications.
