For process safety reasons, it is sometimes necessary to isolate a pipeline, i.e. install a blind in the piping system. Traditionally, this is done using the so-called impact blind, which is rather labor-intensive and time-consuming, especially in confined spaces and for large sizes.
With a quick action line blind, isolating the pipe can be done in minutes. One worker is sufficient for the task, and no additional tools are required besides the quick action line blind device. The emissions produced during isolation can be kept to a minimum.
The ONIS quick quick action line blind device consists of two main body halves with flanges or welding ends, which are connected by eccentric bolts and a joining plate. A significant advantage of the system is that one person can easily isolate a pipeline with a nominal size of up to DN 1200 by simply turning a single lever or handwheel.
The device’s simple operating mechanism increases work safety, reduces downtime, and decreases the need for manpower during the isolation process.
We presented the operation, structure, and maintenance of the quick action line blind in this recorded webinar.
