What is a resilient seated gate valve?

The shut-off element of a resilient seated gate valve is a wedge-shaped gate coated with rubber, which rises and lowers when the valve stem is turned. Thanks to the rubber-coated gate, the valve is less sensitive to impurities between the gate and the sealing surface compared to traditional wedge gate valves.

The pressure resistance of a resilient seated gate valve is quite limited, so its typical applications include use as a shut-off valve in water pipelines. The materials used are cast irons and steels.

The valve’s competitive advantage is its relatively low acquisition cost. The body material is often cast iron. For oil applications, the same valve is available with gunmetal shut-off elements.

Selecting a resilient seated gate valve

Typically, a resilient seated gate valve is selected based on the line size, also taking into account the process medium’s pressure and temperature to ensure they do not exceed the valve’s allowable limits.

The resilient seated gate valve can also be installed underground, equipped with an extension spindle.

We assist in selecting and sizing a resilient seated gate valve that meets the requirements of the application.
