What is a temperature control valve?

Self-acting temperature control valves follow the process temperature behind the valve and control the valve to open or close depending on how close the temperature is to the set value.

The temperature control valve consists of the valve itself, a capillary tube, and a temperature sensor. The sensor is installed in the location where the temperature is to be monitored. If the temperature rises or falls from the set value, the sensor directs the valve to open or close. This occurs through the fluid within the capillary tube, which either expands or contracts under the influence of heat.

Self-acting temperature control valves are suitable for both heating and cooling.
