What is fuel viscosity and density measurement?

A typical application of a viscometer is the measurement and adjustment of ship fuel viscosity to meet the optimal viscosity for fuel efficiency, as the quality of fuel obtained from different ports can vary significantly. The device is also capable of measuring density.

Selection of viscosity measurement devices

VAF ViscoSense^®3 measuring device does not contain moving parts and is easy to install. Very small torsional movement is achieved by the piezo elements within the sensor. Recalibration is not required. The device also has an integrated Pt 100 temperature sensor. The viscometer can be ordered with DN 50-150 process connections. Wash materials GGG 40.3, steel, or AISI 316 depending on process conditions. The measuring sensor material itself is AISI 316L.
