What is a safety shut-off valve?

The safety shut-off valve closes when the set pressure is exceeded. The safety shut-off valve is spring-loaded, and it is opened manually using the lever located on the side of the valve.

Choosing a safety shut-off valve

Safety shut-off valves are an essential part of the pressure reducing system. As the name suggests, it is a safety device that shuts off the gas flow when the gas pressure does not remain at the desired level. In Finland, almost exclusively the upper limit safety shut-off valve is used, which closes when the pressure becomes too high. Both land and liquefied petroleum gas legislation guide the selection of pressure control safety devices.
